Patrol Operations

Patrol Operations
The El Mirage Police Department employs Community Policing Concepts while further developing relationships and partnerships with the community to solve crime related issues.

The El Mirage Police Department Patrol Division is responsible for patrolling the city and responding to calls for service. The patrol division consists of six squads responsible for patrolling the city twenty-four hours a day / seven days a week. The School Resource Officer is assigned to the Patrol Division and is able to work closely with patrol officers on juvenile issues in the community.

Each officer is assigned to a patrol squad and is responsible for an individual beat. Each squad of officers is supervised by a patrol sergeant. The officers assigned to the patrol division assist the public, respond to calls and conduct preliminary investigations. Patrol Officers operate marked and unmarked patrol cars, police bicycles and motorcycles.
