Economic Development
El Mirage has updated its General Plan to capture and allow for many creative and progressive economic development opportunities. Emphasis is placed on promoting growth through careful planning and innovation. Major improvements are also in various stages of planning along the cities’ front door boundary of Grand Avenue, on its north/south central thoroughfare of El Mirage Road, and along the southern boundary of Northern Avenue.
The City has partnered with Friends of the Agua Fria River redevelopment project that borders the entire eastern length of the city and envisions extensive development to include entertainment, restaurants and outdoor activities for all ages.
The Wayfinding Sign Program is now accepting applications!
This program was developed to assist and provide direction to where City facilities and local businesses are located. Top placards will be designated for City facilities and the remaining for local business owners to lease on a first come first served basis. The initial fee is $500.00 per placard with an annual renewal fee of $250.00 per placard. Click here to download the application and a map of the sign locations. Applications are also available at the City of El Mirage Customer Service Center located at 14406 N. Alto Street. Please submit your completed application with your payment to our Customer Service Center. Upon review by the Public Works Field Operations Department, a City representative will notify the applicant regarding the approval or denial of the application.
