IV.      MAYOR’S COMMENTS

Due to all the calls regarding Public Transportation, he has begun to meet with the head of the RPTA Metro about getting a bus line.  Mayor proposed that the existing bus route that runs down Grand begin to get off Grand Ave at Thunderbird go North on Dysart to either Greenway or Grand Ave.  Surprise Mayor Joan Shaffer is supporting this effort.  The process is that they will come out and look at the proposed route; tell us how many stops we would have and how much it would all cost.  They also do a ride assessment to see if they feel it is worth while to bring the bus in.  The City is prepared to pay to have the bus stops.  Metro has not planned to have a bus route in El Mirage till 2014.
