2014 Election Cycle
In 2014, the electors of the City of El Mirage elected one (1) Mayor, and three (3) Council Members, each to a four (4) year term.
Also at the August Primary election, the electors of the City of El Mirage cast their ballots on a Permanent Based Adjustment for the City’s expenditure limitation.
As with all elections in the City of El Mirage, the possibility exists that all seats will be filled at the August 26, 2014 Primary and no General Election will be held in November, 2014 for local candidates. If any candidate receives 50% of the number of ballots cast plus 1 vote, that candidate is deemed elected at the Primary election. If no candidate received 50%+ or in case of a tie, the candidates with the highest vote totals (not elected) will be placed on the November 2014 General Ballot. The run-off (if required) ballot for the November 4, 2014 election will contain at least one more candidate’s name than there are openings on Council. All candidates elected in 2014 will assume office in December 2014.
